The platform informs you about changes which concern you through notifications. This way you avoid having to be ever-aware of every activity, course or session. In addition, you can use notifications to send internal mails on the platform to all the users or just to the ones you choose.

If you go to notifications you can see the messages you have received. To read a notification you just have to click on it.

When notifications contain external links, these will take you directly to the linked page, regardless of being logged in or not. If you are logged in, when clicking on the link, it will redirect you directly to the linked page. If not, it will lead you first to the login page and after authenticating yourself, it will redirect you to the target page.

In "Notification Settings" (located in the "Configuration" section) you can define the type of notifications you want to receive in the platform inbox and/or in the e-mail associated to your user account.

Main Notiffication Settings

By Clicking in "Edit Settings"  (number 1 in the pic) you can access to a menu of checkboxes to select in wich scenario wants to add notifications, as you can see in the picture below.

On the other hand, if you click over the "Event" name (number 2.a in the first picture) , you will see a preview for this Notification.

To access to a full notification edit window, you have to click on "Edit" or "Edit details" depending on your source window (or 2.b button in 1st and previous picture).

Once you are placed on the edition window, you will be able to:

I- Edit this template in all different languages.

II- Insert Text and Variables using the editor.

III- See a real time preview.

Management of your notifications

  1. Go to "Notifications".
  2. Select the "Inbox" tab.
  3. Check the messages you want to mark as read or to delete.
  4. Click on "Mark selected as read" or "Delete selected" depending on what you want to do.

Sending notifications

  1. Go to "Notifications".
  2. Click on "Compose notification".
  3. Complete the fields. If the mail is for a user or a specific group of users, mark "Selected users" and click on "Add users" to choose the recipients of the message. It is also possible to send an e-mail to selected groups. To do so, choose "Selected groups" and click on "Add groups". In case that a user belongs to several groups, he or she will receive the message only once.
  4. Click on "Send".

The text editor allows you to give format to the message and to include customised fields for the user who receives it (see /wiki/spaces/ML/pages/4915218).

To see or send again the notifications you have sent:

  1. Go to "Notifications".
  2. Select the "Sent" tab and click on the one you want to see.
  3. Click on "Send again" if you want to send that notification again.

To delete a notification from your sent notifications mailbox:

  1. Go to "Notifications" and select the "Sent" tab.
  2. Mark the messages you want to delete.
  3. Click on "Delete selected".
