There are two different options to assess a course, based on different requirements to pass:

  1. Minimum score: students have to achieve a weighted average score to pass.
  2. Passed compulsory activities: it is required to obtain a percentage of passed compulsory activities to have success.

Further information on Course assessment options in Central in the video below:

When creating a course we can select the Passing system by selecting creating a course or editing its details

"Minimum score" system

By selecting Minimum score system, we can give more weight to certain assessable activities.

A weight is assigned to an activity by editing activity details.

Students can check their weighted average score and the number of compulsory activities passed out of the total.

Remember

The Minimum score system requires to pass all compulsory activities

"Passed compulsory activities" system

The Passed compulsory activities system requires to specify the percentage of passed compulsory activities needed to have success in a course.

Students can check the number of passed activities and the overall compulsory activities required to pass a course.
