FAQ: Updating a SCORM activity (admin)
Updating a SCORM activity is a practice to be avoided. Netex always recommends publishing a new activity that reflects the changes made to the new version.
Before updating a SCORM activity, first we must ensure that the new activity version doesn't have changes in its structure from the previous version.
If the activity content has changed, a new activity must be created, since updating the existing activity could harm its proper functioning.
The changes in the structure are:
- Modify the title of the unit. See how to modify the title in learningMaker.
- Add/delete pages or pop-ups.
- Add/delete components on those pages and/or pop-ups.
- Add/delete quiz questions.
- Add/delete quizzes.
- Modify quizzes: modify texts of statements or answer options, add new options or change the correct options.
- Change a template in case the content has been developed in learningMaker (for example, change from Multipage to Multipage APP).
Therefore, the only changes that DO NOT affect the structure are the correction of existing texts and the replacement of images and/or videos.
REMEMBER: LearningCentral may allow you to publish content with some of these changes in structure, but warns that there may be errors in the monitoring if students have already started working with the activity. Therefore, if the client decides to continue with the update of a previously published content, Netex is not responsible for any follow-up problems that may arise. In any case, we will do our best to collaborate with the customer, but these actions are outside the scope of support and our SLA. The above indications do not apply to content created with other third-party tools. Netex is not responsible for any modifications made to these contents or any bugs that may be generated. |
